I bought the JB Camera Design grip for my ep5. It looks a little funky, but the camera handles like a dream. :)

My biggest concern was that the wood grip would detract from the beauty of the ep5 body, or make the camera more conspicuous. But when the camera's in my hands, you can barely notice the grip.

It's expensive, but I really wanted a grip, and it's ergonomically excellent.

I really like the look of the JB wood grips. I considered one for my X100S but in the end went with a Gariz case instead. I think I would have gone the JB route if the bolt holding the grip bar would have been countersunk to be flush with the bottom of the grip plate.

That is the only drawback to the JB Grip IMHO. As for the Gariz half case (for the E-P5) it has an annoying flaw in that the leather on the right side (facing the rear LCD) covers the computer and remote release connectors. Maybe JB will modify their grip and maybe Gariz will fix their mistake too, I hope.

Went to Cancun with an E-P5 and an X100s, and they make a mighty fine combo, if I do say so myself.

Here are some shots from the E-P5, using mostly the 9-18 and 40-150 (with some P20; the Oly 45 went unused for some reason)

(Below, testing the E-P5's very small - and accurate - focus point:)

These were taken with the Sigma 30mm. If an artist asked me how I saw their work, this is what I would tell them. The Sigma 30mm really is a fine lens.

The grip makes using adapted full frame lenses a balanced experience, and focus peaking + the vf4 makes mf a breeze.

The JB woodie has solved the grip problem, and a firmware update has eliminated shutter shake, a problem I didn't know I had. A few shots at the gym today showed noticeable improvement over previous efforts.

Just got my new ep5 :) This time it's no longer the Lemon Unit :) Glad I was able to replace it back.

Family photos of Maria and 7 month old Renelle. Maria will send prints to her husband, Denzel, who's been away at Coast Guard boot camp for the past 6 weeks.
