Zuiko 14-42mm MkII and GF1

    Anyone know how I can get the new .Zuiko 14-42mm MkII MSC to operate on a GF1...... the camera states please check the status of a lens

    sound like it is not registering with the contacts in the camera.
    When you attach the lens DO NOT hold the lens release button down.
    Attach the lens, twist and listen for the click to say lens is properly located.
    There is a pin coming from the lens body that drops into a slot in the lens body when it is aligned correctly. This pin operates a switch in the camera body, telling it the lens is attached correctly, hence your message.....:smile:

    ALL m43 lens's will work with ALL m43 bodies
  3. You need to extend the lens to it's operating position. The MkI behaves in the same manner.

    Thanks......... I figured it out pretty much soon as I stopped playing careful. ............great little lens worth having in one's kit.

    Only issue is that you won't get IS with the lens. Not really a huge deal I think for this sort of lens.

    This is true for the 9-18mm as well, which is also a 'collapsable' design

    yea not a bad lens camera combo with a bit of bnw pp on the garden
