yeah, it was shot for IMAX originally which uses the 4/3s aspect. Surprising they left it in that ratio for HBO, but maybe they didn't like the crops that would have come out of it.

It literally says “This film is presented in a 4:3 format to preserve the integrity of Zack Snyder’s creative vision.”

I saw an interview where Snyder justified the more vertical screen shape by saying the superheroes are "standing tall together".

The sequel always has to be bigger and better, so I can't wait to watch Justice League in TikTok format.
