Before you put it on, go fire up the A/C in your rental car to the max for a few minutes and then seal everything up.
No rental car, there are no roads on the island we are going to (you can walk around it in about 10 mins!) , but we'll have A/C in the room so I will definitely be taking your advice! I'm also taking a few bag of silica gel to throw in with the camera just for good measure!

Have you any recommendations on lens selection and settings for underwater shots?

Not a ton as I haven't really done a whole lot of underwater shots. For my split shots I quickly learned that I needed a pretty small aperture if I wanted to have what was above and below the water in focus. Most underwater photography is done with UWA or Macro lenses.

Butterfly at Sciaence North in Sudbury Ontario. Fun fact; In the 1960"s NASA Astronauts practiced the moon landing here because the moon like terrain was the closest match for what they determined the moon was going to be like!
