Slow month for me but the summer always is, just to hot here in Texas. All photographs taken using my EM1 w/ ZD 150mm ƒ2.0 + EC-20 at Huntsville State Park in Southeast Texas.

Probably my favorite photograph of the last two months

This is an anti crop aka had to add canvas and use content aware to get a good composition. Really love the detail in this photograph, good example of what the 150 + EC-20 are capable of (especially when the subject is close).

Same bird as above once again (seem to get a lot of good shots of one bird when you watch them for an hour). I love shooting into the sun, been doing a lot of it the last 6-8 months.

Pretty thin month for me - too much riding to take many. Here are the 5 I liked best:

Bikers and bikers waiting at the Church:

    Patience:
    P7300004 (1).jpg

    Obligatory Summer Flower:
    P7300013.jpg

Aussie with knives and more knives on a pole juggling errrr:
    P7300134.jpg

    And Elvis:
    P7300142 (1).jpg

First with the P12-32, and the rest with the 14-35f2. There is something about the SHG glass...

Until you shoot with it yourself you just don't really know the magical goodness known as SHG glass. Worse part is then you don't want to shoot anything else, which is why I have an obsession to get it all so I don't have to.

They are just so damn big. :dash2: However, I was shooting the crazy Aussie busker and I realized that without the 14-35f2, I just would not have gotten the shot. Yes I would have managed the same shot with a prime but with the 12-35f2.8 or 35-100f2.8 or whatever f2.8 I would not have been able to get the shutter speed I needed to freeze the action. And, the E-M1's burst frame rate would have dropped as well. The 42.5f1.2 would have been a great lens for the stuff I was shooting that evening but it is big and heavy and pricey too.

I've been looking at the 35-100 just for that reason. There are some outdoor amateur rodeo arenas I want to shoot at. They are covered by huge tin roofs but have no walls and have really bad lighting. I need the aperture of f/2 so I can keep shutter speed high and ISO reasonable. I value the f/2 lenses for that and could care less about the smaller DoF it gives.

I actually had a hard time narrowing my month down to 5. I ended up with quite a few that make me happy.

After perusing through my Flickr, it seems July was a busier month than I thought. I had a number of good shots that made it difficult to pick just 5, but I suppose these will do:

July has been a slow month for me. I haven't shot much at all.
