With a few hours to go for October I will start the ball rolling for members to share Your Best 5 of the month.

In October I continued working on a personal photographic project (slide show) of a new rider discovering the world of dirt roads. I concentrated on black&white images but some really look better in color.
Many outings and locations in South East Queensland, mostly late in the afternoon.

Rideau Canal Locks, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
The canal was opened in 1832 as a precaution in case of war with the United States. It remains in use today primarily for pleasure boating, with most of its original structures intact.

Luskville Falls, Gatineau Park, Quebec, Canada - adjacent to Ottawa (Nation’s Capital) and park of the National Capital Region. The Luskville Falls hike was a spectacular fall walk in the Gatineau Hills.

I look forward to this thread each month, great photos from everybody!

Cheers!

A sparse month for images (end of furlough and back to work!) from me but I am happy with what I shot:

During these strange times October contained my last two escapes into normal for 2020.

Not a lot this month for me. Fell off the Brompton at speed and bruised my ribs in the middle of it, and the ensuing gravel rash kept an arm out of work. Thankfully the G6 and attached 45-275 which broke the zip of the handlebar-bag and slid 20' down the road were remarkably unmarked (this plastic stuff is good, eh?). Also did a 2500km round trip to the UK and back to empty daughter no.1's flat and bring her home before lockdown struck. Her office has closed and sent everyone home to work there. The son has been sent home from uni too and will be taking his course 'virtually' for as long as it takes. Strange times. Anyway......

I had a great month. I finally bought the Oly 60mm macro lens so I can offer a bit of variety this month. Usually my monthly posts are all landscapes, I even got some wildlife shots. I also had my first mini break since February, A couple of days in Whitby.

I made some new "friends" this month, they are not at all afraid of people.

Between the change in weather and the extra COVID-19 restrictions in place in my region I've not done much by way of photography.

I have started my second flirtation with FF. This time with the DSLR Pentax K1. Here is a four frame stitch of the Blue Ridge Mountains using the old Super Takumar 105 2.8:

It was a quiet month, tried to get out between snowstorms. Just walking around town. Various miscellany and such.
