I can't wait to be there this (and the next and the one after that) weekend! I'm really glad they're limiting people in. Back in 2019 it was absolutely packed at the base of Horsetail.

Dug up a couple of images. Guess it's hard to see the peeps.

Nice Firefall photos, again, Nam. I didn't realize the glow was already so beautiful this early in the month.

I was surprised also to see it that early...the light beam just doesn't get as narrow as when it's peak time...still great to see it.

Sunday was a bust. Partly cloudy turned to high cloud layer all day. I'll go back next weekend for some cold camping. On top of that, they've closed the Southside Drive shore this year due to the river bank collapsing. So it seems like you and the others there grabbed the only river shots for 2021!!

We ended up on the south side of Southside Drive and another couple joined us. Apparently they had been told by the rangers 2+ times to not be by the river and then were spotted again by a ranger on the other side. They were issued a ticket. Ouch.

Wow I had a friend who walk to my spot and no one saw her. She went on Saturday night and walked two miles.

Ooh very lucky. We did about five miles on Sunday with snowshoes. After we found our spot we watched the rangers slowly patrol the road the whole time.

The wait to get in to Yosemite on Feb. 14.

Really glad we were able to just slip on in midday on the 14th wow.

Also, managed to catch the Firefall from Four Mile Trail on Saturday! Two years and four attempts to see it and finally got it. Almost didn't, too, as the clouds were thick and heavy. I'll be back again this Saturday.

We have been wanting to hike there but last time we tried there was too much snow...next time.
