Yongnuo RF 603 II wireless flash trigger / EM10 compatibility problems

I recently bought a yongnuo yn 560 III flash with rf 603II trigger to use with my EM10 and find that the trigger will not easily mount on the hot shoe.
It has pins on the bottom of the trigger that connect to the hot shoe and are sprung to ensure a good connection.
The problem is that the pins stick down further than the leading edge of the hot shoe, making it feel as though i am trying to bend the pins backwards,
rather than them being pushed upwards like they are supposed to. i don't want to have to carefully press each pin up and slide the trigger in bit by bit each time i want to use it.
Has anyone else had these problems?
Is it just my example that is like this? if not, what do you do to make it feel less like you are forcing it into place?

hope someone can help....(i'll provide a pic if needed)

I've have had this issue with my panasonic cameras, but was ok on the E-PL5, but after a while the radio triggers went in easier after a few goes. Maybe a good idea would be to press the pins down onto a hard surface a few times and try again.
