Just got this lens from a local photo store and am pretty happy with it. It's about 5-6 few millimeters (with adapter) longer than the 14-42 kit lens(kit lens compacted for storage). All shot with e-pm1
    view at 100%

Guess that focusing point was a bit left of the center (grass shows that), as the cropped out middle part looks a bit unsharp (?). Shot wide open I assume?

I believe it might of been wide open. Those shots also were handheld. I am still getting used to shooting with manual focus and were jpg straight out of the camera. I did some test shots with the yashica and my kit lens on a tripod to compare sharpness(deleted them though). The yashica seemed to be much sharper at f5.6 than the 14-42 kit lens at 5.6. The yashica at 1.9 looked to me sharper than the kit lens at 5.6, but don't qoute me on that. I'm not sure if that means too much, but since I payed $30 bucks for the lens I'm happy with that. If I get some time i'll post some pics that I know are in focus. I did have a couple of pics of a fire hydrant that I took hand held. one at f1.9 and one at f4. It seems to be a bit soft at 1.9 compared to f4.

I took some more sample images with the yashica ml 50mm f1.9 at different appetures and focused on a tripod. At f1.9 and 2.8 the yashica seems to have slight chromatic abberation but dissappears at f4. Below are some crops from the photo, one at f1.9 and then one at f4 and a shot of the olympus 14-42mm kit lens shot at f5.6. no noise filter, no sharpening just exported from olympus viewer as tiff and saved as jpg in gimp

I already had one that came with my classified ads $20 Yashica FX-103 film camera. Haven't used it in years, but I'm glad I kept it.

Shot wide open (except #2), because well, don't want to waste that bokeh.
