Got one myself a week ago. Most of the shots today were at f1.8 so a little bit soft, but OK in general :)

PS. The lens has a "macro" mode, via hardware switch on its barrel. In macro mode, the closest focusing distance is 25 cm (vs. 50 cm in "normal" mode). Here are two examples ...

@Erich_H - Yes, I got it for 35 EUR brand new, so I will definitely keep it. This is the only one plastic-bayonet lens in my current gear so I will try to be careful with it.

As a matter of fact I have been a long time, low-end, Canon DSLR user before (Canon 350D), so the plastic was almost everywhere. And what is more important, through all the years I did not broke anything :)

This was one of the Canons with a plastic mount in the body? I had one of those, I think it was an EOS 300 (film) and it put me off Canon for good....
It's bad enough with a plastic bayonet, but a plastic lens mount?!!?

No, no. Luckily the lens mount was metal on the 350D. This is why I wrote "almost" :) But all the lenses I had at the time, were with plastic bayonets - the 18-55 mm kit lens, the 50 mm f1.8 version II and some more.

Most kit lenses have this disease. I have a Nikon D40 kit lens 18-55, a Sony 18-70, a Sony 18-55, and I had an Olympus 14-42 (gave that one away...), some Minolta 35-70, all with plastic bayonet... ?
What they do to save a buck....

Having a play with my new Xiaoyi.
When it actually focusses the results are quite nice.

Given the price it's a bit hard to complain about this lens.
I'm continually happy with the results.
I do find focusing in the 'Macro' setting sometimes hit or miss.

Few from me - for the price I think it's amazing. No issue with focus but haven't tried macro yet.

For $45 shipped, the lens is a great value. Testing the lens on my E-PM1. Straight out of camera.

I just bought this lens for 37 Euros. Its a fantastic value. Build quality is full plastic, even the mount is plastic but at least its very light :)
It has a "cosmetic" focus ring that you can't use. So autofocus only. Autofocus works OK on Panasonic G9, its slower than Olympus 45mm for example, but mostly works well. The lens is already pretty sharp wide open, but stopping down helps a lot. Bokeh is interesting (or you could say nervous, its personal taste).

It has a macro mode/switch, but when you are in macro mode, the aperture changes to F3.5 so you can't shoot close-ups wide open (but you can stop down further).
