WTB small square Wratten ND 3.0 filter

    Location
    NC, USA

    Description
I want to do some long exposure photos with a Rokinon fisheye, and the easiest way to add an ND filter seems to be tacking a gel filter to the back of the lens (I may eventually add the Panasonic 8mm filter holder if results are good...). I've tried some 4-stop ND gel filters intended for lighting applications with mixed results, and still need to reduce light beyond 4 stops. Film/gel type ND filters are not that easy to find, and expensive when you do find them. I'd like to try a proper 10-stop gel before springing for a full piece...

Does anyone have high density wratten ND filter stock they would be willing to part with a small piece of?

This might be pretty hard to do as you will have to control light leaks.
After all the filter passes only 0.1% of the light so you can't have any stray light going around the filter.
How big a piece would you need?

Since posting the WTB I have purchased a filter holder used on the back of the Panasonic 8mm fisheye (still not sure how I'll mount it to the Rok yet) which seems to be designed to mitigate light leaks.

I hoped to get a piece of filter approximately 1" square, or 22mm x 22mm to fit the filter holder exactly.

Why don't you PM me your address and I'll send you a piece.
In exchange I would like you to post some pictures of how you mounted it and some long exposure shots you took with it.
