    Dear friends,
A few years we thought of celebrating 3rd April as MFT day but it never really kicked off well . We shall celebrate this year with more enthusiam and post your best MFT shots . I have a spare Sigma 60mm 2.8 and I am happy to give away that lens as a prize for the best shot . So ,let some ideas trickle in . I am interested in publishing a photobook for best MFT shots from that day and some shots from shooters on this forum.
    Cheers

I'm new to MFT and mirrorless, but I love shooting sunsets and got this shot the other evening with my new/used E-PL2:

    mDOI3Ta7z9LnHkDeSk3xgypjERQRaVRsjFczv_iMutpkO8-Pedc1mVoC0jkg?width=1024&height=768&cropmode=none.

It's probably pretty mundane, but then notice the upper-right corner.... At first, I actually thought it was a piece of dirt that got on the print I had of this pic, but then I took out a magnifying glass, and saw that it is a jet airliner (sillouetted), and it looks pretty clear under the magnifying glass. Kind of amazing :) , but I'm really impressed by MFT now!

I think it is a cool idea. And very sporting of you to offer a prize.

Are you looking for shots taken on that date only or just the best m43 shot? I only got into m43 last July :)

I like the idea...it even coincides with my kids spring break (last day of it) so I should even have time to go shooting. I say you make the call on the subject, or just make it open and pick your favorite.

Thanks for the reply guys :)
I think best would be to go on same day and shoot and we can choose the winner . I am also very keen on publishing a book of best shots from this forum. I will ask Amin for some more ideas .
    Cheers

How about starting now and ending a week after 3rd Apr. which should be enough time; also should we have categories? As I don't think this should be just another PP challenage sort of thing, we ought to (at least pretend to) do it more professionally as we have a prize now.:bump:

I've always thought it prophetic that m43 day was on my birthday...

I'm a processing minimalist anyway, so hopefully it will be a good-light day to compensate for the lack of major PP.
Very kind of you to offer that sigma 60, I have seen & heard good things of it! :bravo-009:

Isn't it a bit premature to assume that?
I only saw the thread today, and given it says in the title April 3rd - I assumed it was a case of ONLY pictures taken that day & uploaded within a couple of days - which has been the case for similar events I've contributed too elsewhere...

I can't guarantee I'll take anything worth uploading but I'm fairly sure I'll be out with my cameras :)

I dont know if I will have anything worth uploading but I will try.

I have the Sigma 60mm f2.8 but my girlfriend wants to pinch it.

So, what exactly are the "rules" to this contest: only images taken with a M43 on the 03APR? Uploaded/linked till the 07APR?
If that is the case I will play along.

In the unlikely case I win, I am willing to pay for shipping of that lens to Downunder (Australia).
And BTW, here that World M43 day would be on the 04MAR (... that's how we write our date ;) )

World M43 day came and went (here in Australia) and I made sure I went out and took some images.
I concentrated on the use of adapted lenses, something I love.
I have several to process still but this one stood out.

Taken with this lens that was transplanted from a pocket 110-film camera (Canon 110ED 26mm f2.0)
I used PVC electrical fitting :eek-31: to create a helicoid

    no, no, no link, please
I loathe Picasa and external links. And I think we should drive traffic to this site?

Good enough - I will post a few here soon. I can guarantee no spare time for post-proc any time soon, so they will likely come as originals or with cropping.

BTW thanks for the generous offer of the Sigma 60! :)
Perhaps it could be offered up again by the winner.. but we'll see about that next year :p
