Just came back from the sea...
A few sceneries i took while i was there...

I took this using my 45-200mm... @200mm. i took at least 7 shots to get it in focus... the platform was a bit shaky and i didn't have a tripod...

sunrise in the middle of the sea...
too bad my battery died after this shot...

Good work! I'm amazed you got these focused at all.

That big gas flare looks like something you'd see in a movie. How far were you from the rig? You've done a good job with the darkness and the conditions you were in.

    Thanks JoeG...

it's kinda hard to estimate the distance... here's a pic from the helideck just for you to get a rough idea on how far it is... this pic is taken with the kit lens.

or a pic during the day time of the platform...

Wow, very impressive camera work in those conditions especially! First thing - get yourself another battery ASAP! Great stuff, and rather timely due to the disaster over here in the Gulf of Mexico.

Really quite something - no tripod and that lighting!:2thumbs:

i placed my hand on the railings just to steady my i put my anti shock to delay 1/4 seconds... so that the shake from pressing the shoot button could be minmised...

Great colour and DR in this shot, and I like the composition. Golden hour?
