Just came back from the sea...
A few sceneries i took while i was there...

I took this using my 45-200mm... @200mm. i took at least 7 shots to get it in focus... the platform was a bit shaky and i didn't have a tripod...

Good work! I'm amazed you got these focused at all.

That big gas flare looks like something you'd see in a movie. How far were you from the rig? You've done a good job with the darkness and the conditions you were in.

    Thanks JoeG...

    Icon,
it's kinda hard to estimate the distance... here's a pic from the helideck just for you to get a rough idea on how far it is... this pic is taken with the kit lens.

Wow, very impressive camera work in those conditions especially! First thing - get yourself another battery ASAP! Great stuff, and rather timely due to the disaster over here in the Gulf of Mexico.

Really quite something - no tripod and that lighting!:2thumbs:

    bbw,
i placed my hand on the railings just to steady my hands...plus i put my anti shock to delay 1/4 seconds... so that the shake from pressing the shoot button could be minmised...

Great colour and DR in this shot, and I like the composition. Golden hour?
