It was a pretty hot day here in New York, as well in most parts of the east and south, midwest...

...but when night fell, the temperature dropped and the fireworks started! I'll leave it to others to post their fireworks shots and more - I hope.

4th and 5th, respectively. My friend at our Pool party, and Nikki over a Shirley Temple.

Leica M8 with 1956 KMZ J-3, at F4 and F1.5 respectively. This lens is modified for close-focus, to 0.8m.

I'll upload some of the shots my friend took with the M9 and Noctilux of the pool fights. Nikki won. The camera got soaking wet, no problems.

I have a favorite spot on the riverfront to shoot fireworks. I've had great luck there in the past, but unfortunately they moved the fireworks barge a half mile or more upstream this year. Oh well, got a few good shots of the crowd and the evening skyline:

My paltry view of the fireworks:

May I ask which cameras you used for which photos? That is some view you had even without being able to be right on top of the fireworks!

Many thanks Gordon - it must be great to have two cameras at the ready.
