    Michael Woodford, the Olympus UK CEO who was sacked when he blew the whistle told Amateur Photographer UK "the advent of mirrorless cameras has brought about a renaissance."

    Woodford was interviewed for publication by AP here...

    He's probably just trying to win brownie points. Isn't this the guy who had no clue about the camera division and wanted to sack it? I seriously don't want this guy coming back to Olympus.

    From a CEO standpoint, getting rid of the division draining off the profit makes sense. Until the release of the PEN series, one has to admit that the camera division was costing a helluva lot more than it was bringing in.

    In the last interview with him, he said they had turned around and were making money, and he wanted to see them remain a part of the company.
