Yep. It'll work. Just dont put the transmitter in your bag with the batteries in.
There is no on/off switch on it. just the shutter release button. and if kept pressed in , up against the side of your bag, you will flatten them.
Apart from that. Good cheap bit of gear, quite well made, and works.

Oh and the 4 contact angled jack plug goes into the camera.

Got mine yesterday ... and it works. Pixel PRW-221/RW-221/RS1 ... all those appear on the box or its label. It seems Pixel only make one model for Panasonic (see here: link), but they need to update the list of compatible cameras.

Edit: Should have said it works on my G3!

I have a JYC wireless remote shutter and the receiver has a soft on/off switch, meaning that it's basically always on. I found out the hard way that this eat up batteries in no time. My solution is to keep the battery installed, but with a small piece of paper between one of the contacts (lessens the number of things bouncing around in my bag compared to leaving the battery uninstalled).

    How to set up

Got one of these but cant seem to get it working. Assumed you just plug in and press buttons. Do you have to go through the Lumix G3 menu and turn on in some way?

    Should work fine

FYI - While Panasonic has released a few different wired remotes, electrically they are identical. Any wired remote that works with one Lumix model, will work on all others. This would carry over for third party products.

I posted the simple schematic a few months ago for someone who was looking to make their own. I built a wireless version for under $10 using a 2 function wireless transmitter and receiver purchased from an EBAY dealer in China.
