Every year when February come, a few friends and I are always making plan of going there to try to capture Horsetail Falls.

This year, a few days before we head out a big storm is forecast to come over the Bay Area and Yosemite National Park, which meant that we might not be able to see the light show. We still decided to go. When checked in to our hotel that night it started to snow.

We still wanted to capture the sunrise at Tunnel View so we planned to get there early

As we arrive at the Valley loop the road was covered with snow and we had to put on snow chains.

[1] As we arrive to Tunnel View, we were surprised that no one was there because the fog blocked all the view of the valley...so I turned to shoot the entrance of the tunnel

[16] Sun is setting and this shot is just before a big cloud moved in to block the light...therefore the light didn't move all the way up to the top of El cap

Incredible set of photos! I loved [10] because of the amazing structure the snow had on the stones in the foreground, [16] because the composition just leads you into the frame and toward the rock and [17] just rocks because of the light and colors. Thanks so much for sharing!

@Nam-in-Sonoma
what a beautiful series, both black'n'white as colour.
A superb landscape captured with stunning photos.
My special favourites are 8, 10 and 16.

Amazing pictures of an awesome place. Thanks for showing.

Very deservedly a front page feature.

(So glad you kept them all in color and didn't go the arty-farty route and make them B&W. That would have lost the whole meaning of this beautiful world of ours.)

Thank you everyone.
I went back this past weekend and got skunked again, but this time at the last minute with big cloud moving in while the show is going on and then when the light is about to get good. Felt sorry for the people who went there for the first time.

Will try to add more pictures from this past weekend later.
