Windmills in Hawaii

    This is a Windmill farm at the northern end of the big island of Hawaii,near the tiny town of Hawi.Desolate and super windy, it is utterly beautiful.From here, I drove a few hundred yards down to the windswept cove at the end of the dirt road and saw two whales frolicking in the bay, just offshore.

    Great! That 20mm is a heck of a lens...especially in BW.

    Very nice images Spiny, but I think they are usually referred to as "wind turbines" (or the like). They don't mill anything like real wind mills did. That having been said, there are probably those that would disagree.

    Thanks Rev! It's the end of whale sighting season there but I saw whales every time I went to the water.

    I have a newfound appreciation for the 20.It definitely has a special rendering and the focus speed doesn't bother me after using the X100.

    Thanks Michael.Those horses were grazing amongst the turbines and came right up to me when I got out of my car.

    The constant wind here has really shaped these trees.
