It just seems a bit dated, nice thought though:

I wish they had one for the current Pens.

Exactly, it absolutely would - looks as though the bottom plate has a dovetail slot - I'd even buy one the the e-pl1 with a little bit of extra grip added it would be even better than it is already.

I bought my E-P1 because it is such a compact well built camera. I will be darned if I have any desire to hang "stuff" on it to ruin the look and feel of it.

The E-P1 front panel with grip comes off quite easily (the bottom plate unscrews) - it would be very easy for an aftermarket replacement grip to be fabricated... if there was a demand.

Personally, I like it naked and as designed.

these are the 'bridge' grips, a bit pricy but wonderful to use.
i have 2, one for each of my rd1 bodies.
they work great in concert with wrist straps.

i don't see the ugly myself, it looks great on my cameras.
but really, it's about making the camera easier to hold and carry and when i am out shooting, the camera is always in my hand, for hours at a time...it works perfectly for me.

it might be a bit big for the smaller m4/3 bodies though.
