Just wondering whether there will be a flood of silver Oly 45s on Buy & Sell due to people moving over to the black version?

Will this translate in the value of a used silver Oly 45 falling? Good time to buy?

I have a silver 45 and I am not going to do anything about it: image quality, that is what matters, still the same.

I have no preference, but I won't say no to a cheap silver version for those who think the black is sexier...

I kind of like the look of the silver lens on the black body. I will only sell mine if I find something optically better.

Is that where they get the saying: "once you go black, you never go back"?

I would love the black but don't wanna sell mine for discounted price and lose 150 dollars. Just for the colour ..
    Cheers

I'm gonna go with yes. Also I bet there will be a large influx of used 45's when the 42.5 gets released.

    Indeed.

I'm on the fence about doing that myself... although I'm sure I'll either jump to it, or be knocked off the fence depending on the cost of the 42.5.

There was a quite of a bit of unhappiness with the silver oly options in general (not from me- everything looks good on the Silver E-M5 ), some I could kind of understand, others I did not. Although I'm glad they are making the lenses in both now. Sucks if you want a 12mm though

I think the price will go down, not too far, but I hope to buy a silver 45mm for $250.

Lens change for color will occur among the shallow and obsessive compulsive.

Yes indeed and I'm a member of the latter group....

A new 45 costs around 230,- Euro here in NL and used ones go for around 200,- on German Ebay (I live close to the border....)

    So, black it is

    Colour is irrelevant

For me it is not about looks, it is about performance so I will stick with my silver 45 & 75.

If there are, there'll be lots of buyers too as it's a good, inexpensive lens. Can't see prices softening.

I'm going to spend £10 on permanent markers, try to make my silver one black, fail, and then sell it on for even more of a discount because I've drawn all over it.

orrrrrrrr maybe I'll just keep it...
