    on the streets of Paris?

    other lenses in the bag are panny 7-14 and 14 2.5 with 2 bodies G3 & GF1.

sadly, the mafias have put on hold the oly 45 1.8, ordered 2 weeks ago... :frown:

    need your input.

HCB shot through the streets of Paris with a 50mm lens. I think a 20mm (40mm equivalent) is perfect in my opinion. No disrespect, but I see questions like these and I wonder if they can ever be answered by a stranger when we don't know you're personality and shooting style. You might like to be far from any action or close up with the people. You might want to document the architecture or the streets. Hard to say, but if you gave me a ticket to Paris and only one lens, I would bring the 20mm without reservations. :)

the 20mm is all you really need. Everything else is icing on the cake.

  5. I would take the 20mm just about anywhere, albeit not always on it's own.

My thoughts after the trip, the 20mm 1.7 really shines for the City of Lights. I coupled it with the 7-14 for the wide, it's very good combo. I think if I have to add one lens, it might be the 45mm 1.8.

Thanks guys for the input. It gave me courage to brave the streets with only a 20mm as the longest FL.

    Nice shots, Dave!

Last year, I was travelling in Tokyo (before 3/11) and I took a 14-150 and the 20mm with me. Ended up using the 20mm 90% of the time!

Having said that, the lovely shot from the 7-14 is getting me salivating... I am starting to feel that my 12mm is not wide enough...

Not for me - I'd mostly use the 7-14, but that's what I'm into right now. Between that and the 20mm for very low light, I'd be set.
