Wildlife: show us your walk on the wild side and post your wild animal photos

I would have thought we'd have a thread for wild animals by now, but I couldn't find one. We already have threads for birds, reptiles, insects and rodents - let's not take away from those threads. This one is for everything else that lives outdoors. I would also like to ask that you try to remember to mention at least the lens used. We have a lot of people here interested in wildlife photography, and this will help answer many of their questions.

Barred Owl?

I normally do not shoot a lot of wildlife. Last night at dusk however, this fellow showed up on a tree at the edge of my property. To even get a "reasonable" shot of him I had to shoot as ISO 12800, F/5.6, 1/80th. This is with the Panny 100-300 on an EM-5 with the digital doubler engaged... so 600mm or 1200mm equivilent as you prefer. Connecticut woodlands so pretty sure this is a Barred Owl... I got his attention with a very little noise... he looked right at me...

Just happened to take these yesterday

Came upon a herd of Bighorn Sheep working a salt lick on the side of a mountain road.
They seemed unwilling to leave their treat and allowed me to get fairly close.

I don't see it, but the resizing doesn't help. The head and ears look sharper to me than the rear leg.

OMD E-M5 and M.Zuiko ED 75-300mm ƒ4.8-6.7 II

The IBIS in the OMD’s is amazing, this photo was taken handheld from a moving (slowly drifting right to left of otter) kayak, while twisting body as far as possible to the right, at an effective 600mm, with a shutter speed of 1/320.
