I've never experienced shutter shock, even with my tiny E-PM2 (its IBIS is pretty hopeless though ... ). I do set the anti-shock setting in the menus to on in the cameras that have it available. I need all the help I can get, specially these days after four heart operations, osteoarthritis and osteoporosis, etc, etc. Getting old ain't for sissies!
Normally I use the mechanical shutter.
You, me and most others, mate. I've learned not to wait for the shutter sound!! It's rather easy to end up with 10-20 images! With a light touch and practice sometimes I only get one shot, but sometimes 2-3. Ah well, film's cheap these days ...
