Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone on the forum! Hope you have a "whaley" good time ;)

These are some of my favorite shots from yesterday, where we had an encounter with a mixed group of transient (mammal eating) killer whales just off the southwest end of San Juan Island, WA. This group included 9 whales from 4 different family groups that have been seen traveling and hunting together in the past.

(Shot with Panasonic GX8 and Olympus 300mm Pro *on a very rocky boat *)

Thanks for sharing. Very nice shots considering the conditions. Someday I wouldn't mind trying out the OLY 300mm lens. Washington & Oregon...sections of the country I'd love to visit!

Thank you!
I highly recommend trying out the Olympus 300mm Pro. It’s an excellent piece of kit, and one that I’ll never part with. Before I pulled the trigger on buying the lens I worried about having a fixed focal length, but rarely is my subject matter too close. If anything I still want more reach and will be considering eventually adding an MC-14 teleconverter into the mix.
And I equally recommend a visit to Washington and Oregon ???

Silhouette of a bull moose feeding in the Snake River...and so were the Canada Geese, this is a substantial crop. Taken the day that the wildfire smoke in Teton Valley looked like thick smog.
