Apparently from a quick search the rhyme doesn't work for S. America.
I dunno. Coral snakes range is apparently this -

And pictures of “South American coral snake” show a whiter looking yellow band. Looks just like the photo above. I wouldn’t get near that thing!

Me neither.

Red and yellow, can kill a fellow; Red and black, friend of Jack.

Viernum said that the rhyme is “fairly accurate for snakes in the U.S. but it fails with the Old World coral snakes and many New World species found in Central and South America.” In other parts of the world, coral snakes may have red bands touching black bands, have pink and blue banding, or have no banding at all.

Yes, even tough I was not sure what kind of snake it was I kept my distance - the coral came to mind instantly as it's kind of famous here in songs because of the black/red.

I was with my two daughters walking in a park and the snake was crossing the stone stairs.

This wws the park:

Random ducks that I did not expect to find where I was ... also my first test of the new Topaz DeNoise AI version 3.1.1

I wasn't expecting to see two-headed ducks in Somerset until after the new nuclear power station was built.
Don't believe the TV broadcasts man, Vault 101 is closed, the nuclear waste is here and it is leaking more then a Margate Thatcher fan with prostate "irregularities"

Spent an evening with mother Grizzly and her three cubs last week in Yellowstone National Park. Starting to go through 1600+ wildlife photos and thought I would share this uncropped image of them.

These sheep were outside Yellowstone about 5-8 miles north of Gardiner. All with E-Mi II and 300 mm f/4 Pro and MC-14, handheld, April 21 this year.

Making some headway in getting through my Yellowstone N.P. photos. These are from this past Thursday evening when this grizzly family came out of the high country for a look around the sage flats and changed their minds and headed back the way they came from. The cubs were having quite a time getting through/around the sagebrush but managed to stay right on mamma's tail.

While cutting the backyard grass earlier today, I saw this under a stack of Adirondack chairs. It's very small and I'm guessing only a week or two old. Stopped my work so as not to frighten or disturb it until mom comes back to retrieve her little one. Grass will be there tomorrow.

The elusive Pica or rock rabbit...they are a member of the rabbit family. They are found in talus slopes of alpine meadows of the Rocky Mountains.

Curious re last photo.
Were they all photographing same? With their giant telephotos? They are humungous. I see yours was at 224mm so assume not too far away.
