I don't know why Starbucks doesn't just offer this as an option when you order. It would save a lot of time and effort.

What kind of heathen uses a french press? Costa Rica coffee maker, Croatian coffeepot, or nothing...

LOL, yea of little faith. A French Press is also considered the most green way to make coffee.

At the risk of going further OT...

I have a lovely Gaggia espresso machine, which is about 7 years old. It provides two functions in roughly equal measure:

    1. Making good coffee
    2. Giving me a consuming second hobby taking it apart frequently to keep the blooming thing working, thus avoiding spending circa one "mid-range lens" currency unit on a new coffee machine...

Having said that, I'd buy another for the same reason: they are so simple, even a mechanical klutz like me can easily work on them (being the kind of mechanical engineer who sits at a computer all day and only just knows which end of a screw driver to hold...)

    Happy days!

Wow, that looks like one serious bit of kit. Very nice.

Although, in my currency units, it appears to equate to a new camera body and a few high end lenses!

OTOH, probably be way more acceptable to "budget control"...

I'm in no rush ... waiting for a good deal from Salvatore who hand crafts them in Santa Barbara.

As long as at least one of those grinders work, you are good to go. No worries ;-)

(Rocket Cellini Evoluzione and Mazzer Mini from Italy. Dual boiler and rotary pump are the key words)

Well done HTC. I imagine the colder it gets the greater the appreciation for a hot beverage. Never mind spinyman, he's just lazy, we'll both be over in the morning to start our day with a cup.

I love coffee. I love good coffee. I don't care that much for expresso. I like french press better, but still too "muddy" for me. Auto drip and fresh beans seems to be what I like best. That, and needing to make 10 "coffee" cups on saturday morning with a french press is a little time consuming. I've also been sitting on the fence for a while about purchasing an Aero Press. "Pour over" methods seem to be en-vogue again as well. I've never tried it, but it looks just as time consuming and messy as the french press.

The only thing that Charbucks gets right IMHO is their iced coffee. Fraps are fine for deserts, but usually too sweet for my liking.
