I got a notification from my supplier that the following are available:

    E-M5 + 12-50 kit lens = $1140 USD

    E-M5 body only = $1023 USD

I have *no* plans in getting the kit lens, but I think it's an underrated lens with macro capabilities and weather sealing. The difference between the kit and body only is $117.

I have to decide by tomorrow as supplier is holding the stock for me. I was eyeing the GX1 to compliment my G3, but succumbing to the E-M5 without much resistance from my end haha!

    1. Shall I get the kit or body only? Is the $117 a good price to jump for the kit?

    2. Will you be keen to add the 12-50 to my bag? (see signature below).

    Advice needed, much appreciated.

Well at that price, even if you didn't want it you would easily make a profit on eBay.

Hi Dave, i ordered a black kit and a silver body and only have the black kit at moment. i didnt think i would have much use of the kit lens but thought it may come in handy in wet weather. i must say that after using it i am pleasently supprised, yes its a slow lens but quite sharp (for a zoom ) and not bad at Macro, focuses pretty fast too. i would think that to buy the lens outright would be around $500 as it is £329 over here at moment so $117 seams like a bargain to me. if you didnt like the lens and moved it on i doubt you would loose out on the deal.
Must say Dave you have some impressive pictures on your web site. cheers paul.

I would suggest to buy the kit and see the output images from it.

If you dont like, you can easily sell the kit lens.
    It's a bargain.

Get the kit lens. You will kick yourself later if you don't.

Get the kit and sell the lens for $250-300 if you don't want it.
