Reviews seem to assume that the traditionally video-strong Panasonic's GX7 is better for video than E-M1. But I'm not so sure about that after reading some reviews here. So, I'm trying to build a list of pros/cons of each. Can people chime in?

    E-M1 Pros

    • Can suppress automatic AF-C during shooting (whereas GX7 forces AF-C, which can make the video a little jumpy)[
    • Custom white balance for video (GX7 converts to AWB for video)
    • Mic input
    • IBIS during video

    GX7 Pros

    • Higher resolution
    • Focus peaking during video
    • very fast and robust AF during video wihtout hunt
    • 1080p 60p/60p 28 Mbps
    • 1080p 300p/25p 24 Mbps
    • 1080p 24p 24 Mbps

Surely you can disable AFC on Gx7. I don't have one but that is an option on Gx1. Same for WB.
Beyond that , i think it's recognized that Pana has better codecs and more of them than Olympus.

Thanks. I've grayed them out. (I can't seem to strike through them on this forum.
I guess Panny still has a leg up on Olympus then.

Manual focus is better for video anyway, AF-S will still look skittish and distracting. GX7 has a choice of frame rates too, you can go to 60p for fast action, or 24p for a more filmic look. Datarate is much better too.
