So when I don't shoot micro 4/3, I prefer to shoot medium format. It's not always easy (or cheap) to get, but wow, the quality is just sublime!

So the Phase One or Hasselblad is for my highest quality shoot, while my GH3 is for everything else.

Here are some of my Phase One images:

I like the way you shoot models to appear as mannequins. I am sure a psychologist would recommend years of therapy!

Not sure if that was a compliment or sarcasm, but either way, we all have our ways and vision of shooting. Not all images are meant to be shot as "realistic" and/or "candid." Some are better shot as a "fantasy" and/or "artistic."

Of course, we can also see some of your examples, though =)

Oh man I ALWAYS loved this image...I mean LOVED as in perhaps my favorite high-fashion shot ever !! Truly stunning.

Yeah I think there're lots of people here who shoot cameras/formats other than micro43...Fuji as we all know is quite popular as are various FF cameras like the D600 and such. All of which is great, and sharing those images here is great too....we already have dedicated Fuji and FF threads...as long as things don't deteriorate into 'my system vs your system' type stuff then its all good. Ive been playing with Ricoh GR for a couple of weeks and absolutely loving it for a number of reasons....one of those many reasons is that not only is it a great little camera in its own right but I find it to also be a camera that I can put alongside my m43 gear in my shoulder bag and have them work together side by side really really well.

Heres a few I've taken in the last couple of weeks with the Ricoh.

Given that you just posted MF images on an MFT forum, it does seem a little odd to then feel the need to justify. OTOH, I could be missing something significant.

Oh yes, when i'm not shooting M43, I use a Hasselblad and you can see all of my stuff any time, although I am still struggling to understand the relevance.

Well, I started the thread to see what else people shoot with and with camera. I really only shoot m43 or medium format, with the latter strictly for strobed on-location/studio setting.

I know the majority of the shooters here shoot more candid and street photography, but I'm kinda the opposite. I rarely shoot candids and street, even with the mu4/3.

My comment was to Robbie36 saying that my models are like mannequins who probably need years of therapy.

Class act all the way, there Robbie.

Well the bit about the psychologist was obviously sarcasm. But I just noticed from these and other of your photos that your pictures of models have a 'certain look' that I quite like. And it reminds me of mannequins.

Ah gotcha. Sorry, sarcasm doesn't always translate well in text (at least without emoticons, haha).

Well, glad you like it then =)

It's the Ricoh GRD IV for me whenever it's impractical to carry the OM-D...

Great, thanks for the clarification. I may be a little jet-lagged at the moment, having flown back to Oz from Iceland in one hit. I shoot landscape primarily, and found that the OM D and H4D were a brilliant combination while I was there.

Fantastic and stunning images . I don't why I felt I m at DPR for a moment :wink::mad: I think we all have liberty to chose what ever we shoot with . The cameras just take pics at the end of. The day .I enjoyed this final images -- That's all ...MFT vs FF vs LF vs MFT vs Fovoen is not what matters :2thumbs:

Sorry, Models always trigger the "creeps me out" part of my subconscious (so do Clowns so it's probably related).

Beautifully captured images by the way.

Sublime is an understatement. But there is much more than the resolution of the camera at play. Your results are also attributable to lighting gear, costumers, and make-up artists. Your sublime compositions are the product of a very successful collaboration of skilled artists.

When I'm not shooting u4/3 gear, I use my trusty Nikon d700... Sometimes with strobes.
