Currently the Panasonic 14-140 but the Olympus 12-100 f4 is fast catching up, just have not fully come to grips with the new Oly setup yet

PL 50-200. Amazing lens. If I need a shorter FL it's the P 12-60, which may be the best cheap/kit/consumer grade zoom in the entire Panasonic lineup.

I guess I’d have to give a two-part answer. My favorite in terms of what I use the most is undoubtedly the Olympus 60mm macro. To me that’s exactly what an MFT lens should be. Light, compact, weathersealed. Does whatever I need it to when I need it, and has IQ that makes even the FF/MF crazies happy.

Going with my heart, it’s easily the Olympus 75mm f/1.8. Just such a sharp lens, and it makes some of the most beautiful portraits on any platform, period. It was one of the first lenses I rebought when I got back into MFT.

It feels weird saying because I've always been a prime lens guy.
The 12-40.
It just checks so many boxes for me.

I'm pretty sure the last time we did this the O12-40 came out on top. The P20 was also in the running too.

I only have four lenses but the P30mm macro is the one on my camera most of the time.

but liked his Pana X 12-35 f2.8 so much that he kept it even after he sold all the rest of his M43 gear.

Sooooo, he uses it as a monocle now? Weird thing to do actually. :coco:

I sold my Panny 12-35 f2.8 and used the funds toward the 12-100 PRO. While I never had any issues with the Panny and it always took very nice photos, I never really warmed up to it. I am not really sure why. I am enjoying the 12-100 PRO. I do miss the f2.8 a bit but the pro level optics through that huge focal length range is very liberating.

My choice has to be Olympus 60mm f/2.8 Macro because I shoot macro most. No question.

I just bought Olympus 30mm f/3.5 Macro because it was so cheap and to test the different focal length out. Yesterday I photographed a butterfly with it filling the frame. Had to be really close. Very friendly one, came to my hand too when I stretched it.

Macroramphosis do you use flash with that 30mm? How do you find it? I mean isn't it a bit tough to get the light to the subject? Without flash (like yesterday) I noticed I can't easily get certain points of view because the lens will block the light from the sun.

I don't really have a "favorite" lens. I think about a shoot, then pick the best lens(es) for the shoot.

That said, the Panasonic-Lumix 12-60 would be my choice for a single GP lens.
Small and light, compared to the big heavy pro lenses.
I like the FL range, for a GP lens.

Reflecting on the OP statement.
My all time favorite lens is the Nikon 43-86/3.5.
Considering the state of the art in the 1970s, it was a great GP lens.
I no longer use it, but I still have it.

For field sports:
Back in the 1970s, the Nikon 80-200/4.5. GREAT sport lens, with the push/pull zoom/focus ring. Butter smooth and easy to use.
Today, its modern descendant, the Nikon 70-200/4, is my favorite field lens.
Until Olympus comes up with a comparable functioning lens, the Nikon 70-200/4 remains as my field sport lens. The key is how finger light and smooth the zoom ring turns.

I would say it's the 12-100 f4 Pro for me. This is my main walkaround lens. It's almost always with me on the camera or in the bag. I sold my 12-40 Pro to buy it, so I guess I have to say that wasn't my favorite, but I liked it a lot too.

If I had to have just one lens, then it'd have to be the P20.

I love my S60, but it's too long to be my only lens.

I use my P12-60 f3.5-5.6 the most, and it I could have only one lens that would probably be the choice.

But, it's not my favorite. That's probably a tie between the P35-100 f4.0-5.6, and a 75mm cctv lens that I bought from someone here. Don't use either one a whole lot, but always enjoy the situations that call for them and am almost always happy with the results.

My favorite Olympus lens is the 40-150 Pro. It's so useful for so much of the type of shooting I do. I also really like the 12-100 for its image quality and all around utility.
