2 months after my initial post and I’ve done some selling, wheeling and dealing and ended up with the Oly 8mm F1.8, Oly 17mm F1.2, Oly 25mm F1.2 and Sigma 56mm F1.4.

I’m very, very happy with this combo (until of course due to my labile and unpredictable GAS state I decide to sell it all and buy other stuff only to sell that and rebuy it again in a few years).
And surprised how my favourite lens has quickly become the 17mm.
That's a nice set. Enjoy!

Im fairly new to M43 and for me the plan is to keep it small, light and cheepish [and good! :) ]
So for me, on my EM 10 2, I have a Pana 14 and an Oly 25 f/1.8
I love that combo and I'm finding it more and more difficult to turn to my Fuji XT2 with it's boofy lenses.
[The Oly 12-40 is singing a soft siren song in the background....but that's another story! ]

Last week, the answer to the Prime question would have been just one, the Pana 20mm 1.7

M43 was supposed to be the small kit to compliment the 5D and only used for traveling. But this week I got lucky with a couple of great deals that were too good to pass up and now the 20mm has company.........PL Nocticron 42.5 & PL 15mm. Both are used. The Noct might be my favorite lens ever!

The 15mm is sitting in the mailbox as I type this and was bought on a whim as it popped up with a low bid on ebay, I took a chance......

If I'm going on a road trip, I'll usually carry the O25 1.8, S56 1.4, and O60 2.8, along with my TT350, P14-140 3.5-5.6 and inflateable diffuser for macro.

I need to find a small bag that can carry these comfortably. At times like this my PeakDesign EDB 30L is a little overkill. Usually save that for when I'm caryring the whole kit and caboodle, strobes etc for a shoot.

I have only two zooms, the amazing ultra-portable Panasonic combo of 12-32/3.5-5.6 and 35-100/4.0-5.6. I always takes these two for travel and for landscape shoots.

Current prime collection:

Panasonic 15/1.7 - Bought the DJI version cheaply and optically it might be my best lens. Also like the aperture ring, makes me feel like I'm shooting Fujifilm or Leica :)
But as much as I try, still not really comfortable with it. I carry it mainly as low light alternative for some trips where I take the Panasonic zoom combo. It was very useful for night photography of city in Beijing and Tokyo. Nowadays trying it more on GF9 for night street photography.

Panasonic 20/1.7 - Love this tiny guy, perfect fit for both my GF9 and EM10ii and used it sooo much. For some trips, it was on my camera 90% of time. If it had better focus in dark on Olympus body, it could be my only lens.

Panasonic 25/1.7 - 50mm lens is really fitting me, used as my daily carry on old GF1 and taking it for most of my streetshoot walks. Just seems my copy isn't the sharpest, even when step down.

Olympus 45/1.8 - Not used as much, but anytime I take it for portrait or street, resulting photos are just lovely. I think I should start carrying it around more and be more willing to switch to it.

Currently I'm not sure if I want to add any lens. Might just buy cheaply another Pana 25/1.7 to see, if my copy is truly as bad as I think.

Camera is E-M1ii.
Olympus 75 f1.8
Olympus 60 f2.8
Olympus 45 f1.8
Panasonic 20 f1.7
Olympus 17 f2.8
I seldom use the 17 as the 20 is faster and if I needed wider than 20 I'd probably pop on the 9-18 which I also own. The 60 gets little use since I bought the 75 and may well be moved on.

I'm set at 85, 50 and 28. 85 and 50 are f/1.8 Nikon FF. The 28 is my phone...

I would like to add a 35, but in all honesty I can make do with the 50 + phone.

I was super-tempted to buy a PEN-F during recent outlet sale to pair with a 17/1.8. I overcame that, now thinking about GX85 + 15/1.7. 30, 50, 85 somehow seems way more reasonable. :)

I always used a 35mm eq. when living and working in more exotic locations, and a 90mm for the occasional portrait. Upon return to home in Europe, I noticed I preferred a bit more isolation of my subjects. Probably because disliked being back home and I missed the exotic surroundings.

In my new MFT outfit that translates into a 25mm f1.4 as a general lens, a 14mm f2.5 for its small size if I really need a wide angle, and for portrait I have a many 50 mm lenses that make wonderful MFT portrait lenses, Jupiter5, Olympus 50 1.4, Nikon 50 1.4, etc.

I will buy the Oly 45mm f1.8 though, just to have an AF portrait lens.

LOL!!!!!!!! Looks as if I could have/should have written that, but reading someone's quote of your note inspired me to write my ever-changing tale.

First, seems I change camera system about annually--but LOTS more frequently last and this year--looking for the right combination of size/ergonomics, resolution, and lens availability.. I bought my EM1.3 this March 16, and added the trinity of Leica 2.8-4 zooms, the excellent 8-18 plus the 12-60 and 50-200.. Since then I've received Oly Pros in 12-40 and 40-150 plus the 25/1.2 prime.. Decided I want more reach in my midzoom and now have the 12-100/4 Pro on the way--I fell in LOVE with this with my EM1.2 system in 2017--plus the 17/1.2.

So if I keep everything, which, of course, I won't by design, since among other reasons all of it will be way too much bulk and weight to carry in my rolling bag, I'll have:
8-18/2.8-4
12-40/2.8
12-60/2.8-4
12-100/4
17/1.2
25/1.2
40-150/4, and
50-200/2.8-4.

My first one-or-the-other decision will be between the 40-150 and 50-200.. Then after the 12-100 arrives, the 12-40 and 12-60 will go. Then after I get more time with the 12-100, I'll decide if I even 'need' the surviving telezoom*.. I'm pretty sure my kit will include the 8-18 and 12-100 zooms plus one or both of the 1.2 primes...time will tell.. It's sure been fun and busy, and my office is a bit messy, but things will clear, get sold, etc.. I sure do LOVE this M43 system; its capabilities and ergonomics match very well with my weight-restricted, replaced right shoulderjoint and my advancing age--I'm 76.

* I do NOT shoot birds in flight or any other subjects requiring long lenses.

I use different combinations for different situations. The 3 lenses that are almost always in my "walkabout" bag are the Olympus 17mm f/1.8, the Olympus 25mm f/1.8, and the Lumix 42.5mm f/1.7. Often I'll pack a fourth lens, either wider (Laowa 9mm f/2.8) or longer (Olympus 75mm f/1.8).

Ha ha ha. I've got lots of overlap, and way more than I need. But I've never paid full price, bought at great to excellent prices.
Lumix 14mm f/2.5
PL 15mm f/1.7
Lumix 20mm f/1.7 pancake
Lumix 25mm f/1.7 (got this free as a bonus deal with my GX8)
PL 25mm f/1.4
Lumix 42.5mm f/1.7
Sigma 56mm f/1.4
They're all brilliant lenses in their own way, I can't see myself parting with any of them, even if some are only very rarely used
Since then I've added the Sigma 30 f/1.4 to the bag. Rather nice lens it is. I now have zero desire for any more lenses. Well, until someone brings out an autofocus rectilinear prime somewhere between 8 & 10mm anyway.

As of yesterday, the Sigma 19, 30 and 60mm f2.8.
Interesting choices. Apparently the Sigmas are that good. The focal lengths seem just too high (probably APSC designs?) coming from other systems, but I noticed I like the feel of slightly longer lenses on MFT. So I will check the 60mm; might be just the portrait focal length I like on MFT.

I love to shoot primes.
Olympus 12
Olympus 45
Olympus 75
Sigma 30
Sigma 56
Pana 20
Pana 42,5
SLR-Magic 8
And at least twenty old primes, mostly Canon FD who shares camera with a Sony A-7.
Favorite on MFT is the FD 200 2,8 paired with the Fotodiox Pro Adapter (speedbooster).
