Of course you're using m4/3s now, either as your main system, a compliment to your daily point & shoot, or a compliment to your larger DSLR. I was just wondering what type of camera you were using most before buying your m4/3s gear. (For most people there will be one 1 answer, but just in case you were using a DSLR AND a point and shoot you can choose 2.)

Let's see... A Nikon DSLR at work, Sony DSC-R1 as my primary travel camera, my personal Pentax DSLR for stuff which the R1 was ill-suited for, an assortment of digital point'n'shoots and a fine collection of various film-era cameras, including SLRs (mostly, but not exclusively, Canon FD) and compact rangefinders.

I still shoot EOS FF and APS-C DSLRs and love every moment! But I also really enjoy M43 because I can carry it 24/7 in my messenger bag but still get great IQ. So it's with me at work, in the mall or happy hour. Basically M43 replaced my iPhone and S90.

Although I've shot M43 for nearly two years I find it a lot slower on the draw compared to my DSLRs, mainly because of the tiny buttons and wheels and the slight delay firing up the EVF. But then it's friggen rippin' fast compared to my iPhone/S90 so it all works out. If I could afford it, I'd love to shoot medium format digital too. I still have Zeiss and Pentax medium format gear but it pretty much lives in the gear closet since digital ruined film for me...

Before :43: there was M4/3 :)  an E-3, and I thought I would use the old lenses on my E-M5 when I bought it but very soon realized I liked the smaller lenses so I sold all of my 4/3-gear :/

    Right before m43, a 5DIII, 5DII, and 650D/T4i(?).

    Before that, 7D, 5D classic, 40D.

Believe me, my switch to m43 was not made flippantly :)

    My stuff

Shot Pentax k7, k10 + slew of lenses. Prior to that shot an old Sony a100, and prior to that my first dslr a canon 10d. Plenty of enthusiast cams as well in between g6, p5100/6000, lx5

Found a home with m43. Seems to be the sweet spot for me.

Used Nikon digital camera (CP2000 and CP5400) and Fuji superzooms (S5000) before I got into M43, the reason I got it because it have big sensor in compact body and can change lens.

Nikon DSLR, most often equipped with a 50mm f1.8, and before that an ancient Olympus p&s from the very early 2000's. images on that one were 4/3rds format, though ;)

    In succession:

Fujifilm 1.3 Mpixel camera (just after they stopped using floppys for storage ;-) (before 2002)
Canon Powershot S45 (ca 2002-2009 - such a beautiful and capable camera)
Canon Powershot SX110 IS (2009-2011 - really, really good for the price)
Sony Nex 5 (2011-2012 - wonderful build and real liveview - but mediocre lenses and HORRIBLE menu system)
Panasonic G3 (2012-2013 - best i've had, really happy with results)

I had a Nikon D80 with a few zooms, and was gearing up for the D7000 when the E-M5 appeared. Waited a few month to get an impression of it's performance, then took the plunge.
Biggest reason to jump ship was the lack of decent and reasonable priced wide primes in the Nikon line up; the 35mm was a good standard, but for anything slightly wide you had to cough up big prices for large lenses, and there was nothing in the really wide department for APS-C.

The over all size reduction with M43 was a bonus.

Since the start of digital I also used a compact on the side, mostly Canon Powershot S models. I am up to the S95, but is gets hardly used since I bought the E-M5.

I used a Canon Powershot S3 IS. Small, light and it used regular double A batteries. Just couldn't afford a DSLR and didn't want to lug one around either.

It lasted 4 and a half years and got replaced because the focus became inaccurate.

    Some examples......

I'm band new to photography, so I voted "cell phone." Though, I'd hardly call the iPhone 3G a camera. I can't even get the camera app to open anymore without a crash. Prior to my GH3, purchased in February, I'd never owned a camera.

My GF3 is mainly a replacement for my Fuji F10, but I still use my 7D a lot, and I still have my 5D, 1Ds, 1Dm2, DRebel etc..the GH's are mainly for video, although the GH3 is nearly as fast as the 7D in most things.

My iPhone is still frequently used, mostly because its always there.

No Four Thirds choice? Many m4/3 users came from 4/3!

For me I didn't care less about m4/3, not until the E-M5 was introduced. I'd still be using 4/3 cameras if the OM-D format had never been introduced!

    I didn't want a PEN, and I didn't want a Panasonic m4/3 camera!

I still have a Canon 5DIII and a bag full of L lenses. I may never give it up. It just does what the mu43 cannot. Now when I have to carry one, it is the mu43 camera.
