There's been a few of these bike racks popping up around the place of late. No idea what the council's up to, the Lycra warriors will never use them. No Coffee shops in sight, and they'd get their feet wet & dirty. Crazy idea.

And I'm mightily impressed with how the skinnies are going, even on some pretty rugged terrain. No cuts, nicks, or slashes in them yet, & I definitely haven't been babying them

I reckon it means give pedestrians some room because of there being no pavements!

I ride a full-frame Schwinn from Target. They dumped some for half price a few years ago, flat-bar racers with reasonable components. I vowed never to ride a bike with less than a full frame, it's dangerous!! :p

My Frankenstein ride built from a lot of parts that were never meant to be together.

Out on a waterfall run the last Saturday of 2018. Mill Creek in southern WV is a wild creek with lots of waterfalls, many of them very difficult to reach. There's a road on the west bank and an abandoned railway on the east bank. I've attempted to bike up the rail trail the 2 miles from the bottom of the canyon to the top a few times, but yesterday was the first time I've been able to complete the journey. I did stop a few times to briefly rest my legs, but I never caved in and pushed my bike up the slope.

Ha ha. I cheat, & just keep changing cassettes/chain rings until I get to a low enough ratio that works on the steepest terrain I ride. Yeah, I can only go 65km/hr down steep hills now, but that's fast enough for me :)
That's 26:42 now, on a 29er by the way

Another river bike ride over the weekend. A slight uphill to my car on the return leg, but nothing like last week.

I have been trying to find a good picture of my singlespeed and this is the only thing I have found. Must get a good shot of entire bike when I get a chance. I took a Salsa Casseroll frame and built up a singlespeed.
