I took the bait and got Nik Collection (was on the free one lol).
I am also still using the old version (not free though, I paid Google $99 as I remember). Please let us know what advantages you see in the upgrade. I do want to support DxO but not if it's nearly the same software as I already have.

I bought an inexpensive ($29.99) four thirds to micro four-thirds adapter for another of my 4/3 lenses. It fits very nicely, has no slack, and works perfectly with my two 4/3 lenses which are the 50-200mm 2.8/3.5 and the 14-54mm 2.8/3.5. I use the 50-200 for football from the sidelines and my wife uses the more expensive 40-150mm 2.8 with 1.4X converter. I can not tell much if any difference.

G.A.S. attack! E-M1 III, extra battery, and remote release cable coming my way! I responded to a can't-say-no offer at an event promoted by Olympus and Panasonic. The retailer is local to me (Hunt's), so this will probably get worse.

What was the deal?
It seems $1399 is normal for the EM1.3.
That price isn't a deal for me, as I'm happy with my paid-off EM1.2.

In this case, it's a major upgrade/software enhancement :dance2:

There was a PS update a few years ago which part crippled the original Nik collection plug in. When changes were saved to a new layer, PS would close/crash.

The fix is to make a new layer for Nik to work with and save changes to the same layer. This is fine so long as you remember to do it. I can't remember what I had for breakfast on some days.

Is a £4 piece of blue perspex photography-related?

Well, maybe once I'd mounted my battery chargers onto it. ;)
I was fed up of having these three chargers taking up space with their separate individual leads connected and as they all use the same mains lead, I'll just keep one in the drawer.
I'm sure I've seen something similar in a posting on here, so thanks to whomever's it was for the inspiration.

Black Friday deal: US139:- w/free shipping!

Hopefully the Chinese write $20 as Customs value as asked. Then I'll have made an interesting deal, at least...

Bought a stack of big ass IKEA boxes w/lids. Lids cost extra. Next week I'm promised my kitchen will be finished. Then maybe I will get everything out on the floor and back, roughly sorted into the boxes. We're talking about most lenses and me Pentax gear here.

Then I'll have to get more boxes... And then the labelling and stacking phase will commence.

At least I'll have something to dance merrily around at X-mas time, worst case.

Also a little bit x-posted.
But I think this is really important news!

If you look around there are cables that take 1 IEC 320 Figure 8 C8 male cable and produce 2 or more IEC 320 C7 female cables. This allows you to have one plug in the power strip, and support 2 or 3 battery chargers. These are from Amazon.com. I assume you can get similar things from your version of Amazon. Note, I don't have these. I do have some cords with 1 US power socket and 4 IEC 320 female sockets, but it looks like the source of these has stopped making them. But in looking for them, I found these connectors:

I feel ashamed of myself. I was supposed to not buy anything this god d--n weekend. But then pake posted so nice macro photos while I was dreaming of just good macro photos. So....

I thought I needed a Raynox DCR-250 to get where I want.
I also thought I need a new tripod. Not really satisfied with any tripod I have, actually. So....
A new travel tripod, carbon, very light weight. Cullman Carvao 816TC. But that will not do as "studio work" (if my hobby room is allowed to be called a studio). So....
A new big tripod, another Manfrotto. 190CXPRO3. I had before the 055XPROB, good stuff.
A ballhead for the Manfrotto, Uniqball UBH 35X-1. Seems great since I love the tilt function (and pan of course). It was Black Friday discount on this one!
A few Peak Design stuff on Black Friday discount, tech bag, wrist strap.

I took advantage of the sale and upgraded DxO PL2 to PL4. So now I have to install my still-boxed 1-year-old new computer running Windows 10 so I can install PL4 (hopefully during my remaining lifetime).
I know how much it hurts when you throw away still boxed, unused items that was forgotten.

And when you stumble across them again, you can't even plug in the i/f card to any now existing computer.

And if you found a 360Kb floppy, and installed the drivers, any computer of today would phone M$ to snitch on you, before exploding!

The throwing out part happened to me with a flatbed scanner (Microtek, b/w, with 8-bit ISA card), in unopened box. Mint condition, I would assume. And I have no excuse. None!

And you're remembering what a great pile of cash you paid. And when you start to factor in the inflation it really overkills you.

Obviously I'm too busy for my own good.

Oh well. It's only material things.
