Lenses, controls, AF performance, ergonomics, looks, body IS, touch AF/shutter release ... Pretty much everything other than the sensor.
You can tell by design that the NEX was made by an electronics company. The PEN is clearly a camera made by a traditional camera and optics manufacturer.
The Nex was made/designed by the engineers from Minolta, a traditional camera company.
I don't think Minolta engineers had much to do with the NEX. If it did, it'd be covered in lots of knobs and dials! Maybe the NEX-7?
Then why does the camera have the grip from the Dimage 5 and 7? I see a lot of Minolta engineering in the Nex series. Not all Minolta cameras are covered in dials and buttons.

I'm surprised no one's dabbled in the Samsung NX system!
