I haven't seen a thread like this for a while, but what lenses do you want to see?

For me I personally want to see an updated(i.e better coating) & slightly sharper 14mm f2.5 II, and an updated 100-300mm but a constant f4.5 or even f5, could be well paired with newer m4/3 cameras like the E-M5 II and GH4.

    Same thing I say everytime:

    Compact and sharp 12-70mm
    lightweight 9mm f2.8 (2.0 if I'm greedy)
    TC for the 75mm f1.8

14-42/2.8. Non-pro in terms of build quality, weather-proofness, etc. Try to keep the cost as low as possible. I miss the Tamron 17-50/2.8 from my Canon days, for example, which was a very high value lens. But it doesn't seem like f/2.8 zooms are possible at a relatively low cost in m4/3s world, so I am not holding my breath for this one.

I'd like to see an updated pany or oly UWA that takes filters. Maybe 8-12mm f/3.5 or faster?

I'd like to see an update to the 15mm body cap that offer more clarity, & sharpness, also making it f6.5 wouldn't hurt either, even it if makes it a mm or two thicker. A body cap in the 19-23mm range at f8. And a 250mm or 300mm F5(f4 if greedy) prime.

I'd like to see the PL42.5 drop about $500 :)

I would really like to see a 25/~1 ish that has AF. But otherwise, pretty happy with what I have lenswise. I would just like a nice sensor boost (though, not so far that I'd need new glass to resolve it...)

I'm still waiting for that small, pro-level 12-150, with weather sealing. :p  I would also love to see the P20mm updated to fix the banding issue on Oly cameras.

They could just make the APS-C model in m4/3 mount with the proper AF support.

Wide prime that takes filters. Don't care about how fast it is - f4 or above.

Haha how often do we do this? OK. Would love to see the old OM 90/2 macro remade, and a lighter and slower 105/120/150 macro would be nice too (like /4). Even just a CDAF remake version of the 105/150 Sigmas for 4/3rds would be fine I guess.

An autofocus 500mm f/6.3 mirror lens, it could be made about the size of a coke can and would be highly impractical in terms of vibration and yet amusing on so many levels.

An affordable and compact-ish 12-100mm(14-100mm to keep cost down) F4-f5.6 Or is that redundant of focal lengths, since we have more than a few lenses in 14-42mm range, an affordable-ish 35-100mm, & both Panasonic and Olympus make lenses in 40-150mm range(Panasonic also has the slightly larger 45-175mm). I think it would nice too for those of us who have E-PM-x, GM1/5, and or GF line of cameras.

The 45-175mm is actually absolutely tiny, I suspect it's one of the smallest lenses in this range rather than larger.

A smaller 12-40/2.8 alternative. Something like a 12-40/4 or 12-50/4. In practice the current 12-50 but with a telescoping barrel, faster and a little better IQ.
    Maybe an 8-16 UWA.

I agree on the non-FE UWA prime. 9mm/2.8 would be fine.

I'd also love to see a 52.5/1.8 portrait lens.

    12-60 (f/4 or f/2.8-4)
14 f/1.8 (built like the 25/1.8 and 45/1.8 and priced accordingly)
8-9mm rectilinear prime. Plastic build is ok with me if priced lower.

At first I wasn't a fan of the O25 and 45 plastic builds but now I actually prefer them due to cost and weight. Also I personally don't use the manual focus clutch of some of the metal lenses and found that theyre just another ingress for dust to enter the lens.

My needs are pretty well met. I think the system needs high quality longer lenses but that need should be pretty much met by the PL 100-400 and the Oly 300. A native TS would be a plus. Personally, I'd kind of like to see something like the 14-54 in a native m43 mount. It wouldn't have to be environmentally sealed and a variable aperture to keep cost, size, and weight down. As long as it had high quality optics. Kind of something better optically with a faster aperture than the standard kit lenses, but smaller, lighter, and less expensive than the 12-40. And then I wouldn't mind seeing a longer tele zoom with those same kind of design compromises. But, the bottom line is that no matter how many options we have available all of us amateur lens designers will continue to imagine a need for additional options.

I dont have any lenses apart from the kit lens(14-42mm, f3.5-5.6). Although I am quite new to the lens thing, I believe oly/panny should offer something like 14-45mm f2.8-3.5 as kit with decent quality glass. I find the kit lens to be too slow often when using without flash. For a prime lens my wishlist should be 20mm f1.0 with AF and an 85mm f2.8 made by sigma...
