I didn't expect such a spectacular view when I took the picture. Can you guess what it is?

    Spot on:smile:

Taken with my camera attached to a microscope using a 20x objective and polarized light (mediocre polarizing filters that when crossed pass blue light). It was pure luck as the critter moves fast in and out of the field of view with occasional pauses at unpredictable times. E-P1, ISO 800, 1/10 s.

I guess this can be considered right-- it is something in a drop of water obtained from a puddle  Thanks.

... at night:smile:. That is actually my first impression. Except for the lack of bilateral axial symmetry.
