The stupid rubber door for the USB port! I shoot with the remote cable a lot and having to flip the screen down to open the rubber flap is a PITA and, it just flops back up and looks hokey. Why didn't they put the same door as the SD card slot where it slides back to open???? I haven't tried but does this flap come off???

    Rant over...

The rest of the camera is perfect :2thumbs:

I'm not a fan of that either. I feel like I'm going to break the flap off when I'm fumbling in the dark trying to attach a cable release for a long exposure. Most everything else on the camera feels pretty resilient, so that part seems a bit under-engineered.

    Cost-cutting I suspect.

That said, the only time you need access to USB is to update the firmware on the camera. So you should be able to keep it closed almost all the time.

I REALLY hate that you need to menu dive to get an exposure bracketing mode. Almost enough to sell it.

I hate how I can't use a wireless remote shutter release AND a clip on flash.

Seems less inconvenient pulling the card than reseating the rubber cover on the USB each time. Faster too.

Does your remote release draw power from the hotshoe? My remote shutter release doesn't actually have to be in the hotshoe, it just has the shoe hook-up for convenience. I've just left it dangling by the USB cord and it works fine.

Cut a little piece of scotch tape and stick it, "V" shaped, to the door. Now you can you use it as a "grip" to open the door without having to flip the screen.

I've only used the E-P1 / E-PM1 - definitely easier dealing with the flappy thing (and its kind of rubbish on the E-PM1) than pulling the card and sticking it into my iMac slot, then ejecting the card and popping it back in.

I'm definitely keen to try an Eye-Fi card to minimise cable/card-hassle although I hear its pretty slow for RAW files.

I am working on a similar but, more permanent arrangement as I thought about this for about a week. I access this flap a lot and need instant access to the USB for my shutter release on the fly. American tax dollars will be spent fixing this issue!

No need to flip the tilt screen down. Use your thumb to pry the rubber flap open. Yes the flap will flop back up when your finished using the ports and then you just press it back in place and it will stay flush with the camera body and help keep it weather sealed.

    2 things:

    1) The IBIS not working for legacy lenses (I'm a still image sort of guy, but *really* wanted to play with the IBIS video on my old lenses)

    2) The EVF auto-on activation is a little farther than I'd like. I'm constantly tripping the sensor when I use the LCD flipped out (with LCD facing up), and turns off the LCD I was using- usually in the middle of something.

Just to clarify, this is for video ONLY. IBIS works for still images with legacy lenses, correct?

    Correct. Video only.

For many (me included), I shoot a lot of video and only use MF glass.

Native lenses + stills + IBIS = check
Native lenses + video + IBIS = check
    Adapted/non-native lenses + stills + IBIS = check
Adapted/non-native lenses + video + IBIS = no bueno :( ..needs FW fix ASAP!
