hello everyone!
I'm going on a trip to india for a couple of months, and i figured its a good time to upgrade to mirrorless from Nikon Dx.
i currently have a D90 with couple of lenses : 80-200,17-55 and a prime 50mm
(because of camera and gear weight, and IQ )
i was looking at the main three , em1,em5 and the em10.
so i need an advice , which of the three to pick? of course budget is a big factor, looking for the best bang for the buck solution,
also i will be happy for a tip for what lens i should buy for the starting experience with the camera, the nikon 17-55 produced nice IQ , but i think the body was a bit "tired"
thank you very much guys!
If one of your objectives is to reduce size and weight, you might want to check out the camera size comparison between the d90, em1, and em10. The em1 is a very competent camera, but it's not that much smaller than your d90, and if you equip it with f/2.8 zooms, you'll still need a sherpa.
If you're going to keep your d90, I'd suggest you complement it with the tiny, light weight em10 and the Olympus 25/1.8. After shooting for a few weeks, you'll be in a better position to make decisions about the other lenses for your kit. My traveling lens kit is the Panasonic 14/2.5, Olympus 25/1.8, and Sigma 60/2.8. It's an affordable trio with a range that suits my interests.
Note: I shoot a d700 and an ep5, but both my son and son-in-law have d90s and have recently purchased the em10 + 25/1.8 combo. I did a lot of research before guiding them into that selection, and my goal was to have them take excellent pictures of my grandkids, so my recommendation isn't idle.
