I have a LT2 focal reducer and I'm beginning to collect M42 lenses. What M42 screw mount lenses have people found work well with the micro 4/3 mount?

So far, I've been drawn to the the Helios 44 lineup and the Mir 1B. Lot of old Soviet lenses out there, and they aren't radioactive!!

There is also the Jupiter-9 85 2, but I sold my copy.

The Helios 44-3 is pretty fantastic and the Mir is lovely, but since you've noticed those already, I'll vote for the Volna-9. It's an intoxicating gem if you like unique bokeh. It's also a decent macro lens.

The Jupiter-9 85/2 and the Helios-40 85/2 are both on my list of eventual acquisitions. I had never heard of the Volna-9 before but sample pictures online are astonishing! Impressive macro capabilities with that lens. I was looking into buying an FD 50/3.5 Macro, but the Volna is faster and appears every bit as good... might just have to get both.

Does anyone use wider (<50mm) M42 mount lenses?

I have the Helios 44-3, Super Takumar 55 1.8, and a Cosina Cosinon MC Auto 55 1.4 in M42 mount.
Love the Cosinon the most out of the 3.
