Handle's "Dominus A Dextris Tuis"

from the Carmelite Vespers. Thanks, Tam, for reminding me of the gold mine in my Handle repertoire.

And... from another period... please pardon the "lo-fi" rendition of a hi-fi performance. Terry Kath is one of my musical heroes, as a guitarist, as a singer. His loss is certainly noteworthy. These guys, every player in the ensemble, were well ahead of their time as rock/pop musicians. And the drummer! :) Makes me smile.

And, possibly, one of their finest pieces... it "appears in my mind as a beautifully mysterious thing..." There can be no other.

Chicago Questions 67 And 68 - YouTube

This one always gets me.... must be something about me being in my formative years when this was recorded? Nah... it is just, pure... great! The horns, the percussion, the guitar, the vocals... ALL of it. It IS.... greatness, forever living on. :)

I've been a Chicago fan ever since about 1968... but this is the first time I've seen this amazing mini documentary, which is so well worth checking out. Parts 1, 2 and 3.

The first 2 albums I ever purchased were America and Chicago's greatest hits. Early 70s ... still have the America album; no idea what happened to that particular Chicago album.

Video featuring TeamGB Gymnastics Team. Love the bit where the light trails kick in mid jump.

Not a record, streaming from MOG. It is a great cover, and a very good album. I will have to rent the movie Frida to see her singing part in it.

Hey Ed,

What's a Canadian like you doin' listening to music from a good ol' country boy like Rhett?

(“Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy,” erroneously attributed to B. Franklin.)

Hey All,

I am dual American/Canadian citizen.

Country and Bluegrass music is one of my passions. If country "speaks to you" it doesn't matter where it is produced. Simple music that speaks to life, love, work and country. I grew up on the stuff in rural Montana. I am very thankful for Youtube which allows us to hear great country from all over the world as well as that produced outside Nashville in the US. I offer you a sampling.

Canada - Paul Brandt. Since we are photographers here is a song with images illustrating the beauty of Alberta. I have relatives who live 30 miles south of Canada and have never heard this song on a Nashville based radio station.

Australia - the Sunny Cowgirls - Sophie and Celeste Clabburn. I am their biggest fan in North America - bar none! You'll note we don't need any pretty pictures of Australia - do we?

Red Dirt - Reckless Kelly - The Braun brothers hail from Idaho and you will never hear them on a Nashville based Radio station. Wonder why? But thanks to the net you can enjoy them...

There is great music out there - everywhere.

Cool! I've had a couple of Dual 1019's and a 1219, both of which probably outsold the ELAC 100:1. The ELAC seems to have a better design under the cover. Both Dual and ELAC designs are marvels of German engineering, but ELAC does it more elegantly, IMO.
