I just got back from a weekend trip to Sofia, Bulgaria. I was mostly there to take care of some embassy stuff, the constant nemesis of the English teacher abroad, so I only brought a couple of lenses with me. Most of these were shot with the 12-50 on my E-M5, as there was rain on and off for a lot of the time I was there. Let me know what you think!

With a lot of these I was trying, with varying degrees of success, to save the detail in the clouds without burying everything in the shadows or going overboard on the brushing.

Full disclosure: I work on a laptop with an uncalibrated screen. I hope to upgrade when I move somewhere more permanent.

    Very nice.

Rain can be a pain! I had to fight it when I went to Epcot back in January. The only image that looks like the rain{or cloudy sky} really affected negatively is #4. That image would be so much better with a blue sky. You successfully used the harsh sky in some of the other pics.

I think the vignette is a little too strong on the first one, at least in the sky. My favorite is the last one! I love the contrast in vivid greens and dreary grays. The one lamp post at the edge makes it look like it is crooked. But after really looking at it I think it is because the lamp has a tapered pole. You might could crop it in a little bit to fix that.

Nice collection and nice overview of your trip to Bulgaria. It is harder and more time consuming to offer c/c to a larger group of pictures such as this but here's a few comments:

-Colors and vignetting put me in mind of instagram photos which are not to my taste but they are very popular so who am I to say. But I am curious why you used so much vignetting. I don't think it adds anything to the photos where it is most prominent.

-I like Cloudy Morning very much for the contrast between foliage and clouds but the tilt bothers me a little . Maybe I need to stare at it longer.

-Gloves is my favorite for its slice of life perspective on what is probably everyday, working class existence in Sofia. The wires and the crumbling exterior of the building with the simple draperies and laundry out on the line tell a whole story without any extraneous material in the image. And the gloves provide a whimsical point of focus.

-Mladost provides a nice contrast/juxtaposition of modern city with dirt field foreground but coloration again looks unnatural.

-Nice framing in Central Dept Store Good geometric shapes all work together within the frame.

-Some of the images are tilted left or right - not on an even plane. I don't think you intended it especially in Central Dept Store or Mladost and it can easily be corrected.
