    I really like both these pics with the sharp focus on the face and shallow DOF

    ...and I think both of you must have cats that stay put much better when being photographed than mine does; I have made so many shots that have out of focus cat nose or paw coming towards lens or a perfectly focused shoulder and back of head that has just suddenly turned

    The trick for me was to wait while Rusty ( the cat ) is basking in the sun and starts to doze off, then i call her name and snap a picture, you may say its cruel, but she sleeps all day long, I only get 6-7 hrs tops
