Yep, too rich for my blood. I can't justify spending more on a watch than I do on my camera, I'm just not that dedicated to watches. I am planning on spending a (for me, expensive) $350-400 on an Orient Neptune sometime. I think that's a beautiful watch.

Nothing wrong with Orient, they make a good product and are owned by Seiko. I have several other watches and none of them break the $300 threshold.

Thanks, this is reference # SPB151 which was a new release this year, a.k.a. Captain Willard. It's a modern reinterpretation of the watch Charlie Sheen wore in the movie Apocalypse Now in his role as Captain Willard.

As seen here, from the movie, on a rubber strap.

I missed a GPS watch, after my Tomtom let me down, ended up with this. Battery is replaceable with this one. Heart rate monitor as well. GPS seems accurate enough for what I want it for. Mountain biking & walking/hiking.

I've looked at those, a GPS in a smartwatch sounds like a cool thing. Especially if the battery life is good.
That one's not actually a smartwatch. It's only about 1 step up from their most basic model, but plenty good for what I want to use it for. Although, if you sync/pair it with your Bluetooth phone, it does give you notifications of calls, emails, SMS's etc. I think it will do between 2 & 3 weeks general activity tracking on a charge, or 11 hours continuous GPS tracking. I bought mine online from a US website, registered it here in Aus with Garmin, no issues at all. Very happy with it.

That's actually better than a smartwatch. They suck down the battery power extremely fast. Not an issue if you're at home, but I found I didn't want to bring my smartwatch too often when out of town, it's just another thing with a proprietary charger that has to be set up in hotel rooms, etc.

Just received this yesterday. I had the original in SS version but sold it long time ago. The moment Longines announced the release of this version again but in bronze, I had to have it :). The bronze color in real life looks close to matte rose gold.

Images were taken with EM5 II + Olympus 60mm F2.8.

HR shot and resize, 1/20, F4.0, ISO400.

Any underwater photogs will see this as a fundamentally poorly composed image with a ton of backscatter. I am shamed. My strobe control needs a lot of work.

Ref 116040 with over 35 scuba dives on her now. Conditions were ~50 ft of vis and very low surge. Decided that this particular pinnacled rock had a great backdrop of some giant kelp. In hindsight this was a really bad spot. One gust of surge and the watch would have tumbled down between some rocks that I'd never be able to get to. I later found a better spot with more natural lighting but no way in hell was I about to try this shot again.

Shot with Olympus OM-D E-M5 mkii w/ M.Zuiko ED 8 mm f/1.8 Fisheye Pro in the Meikon HK Oly housing with dry dome. Using one Sea&Sea YS-D2J strobe and one LightandMotion Sola Video Pro 3800 wide video light. 8mm at ƒ/3.5, 1/250, ISO200. Taken at "North Monastery Beach" Carmel, California at 10:45 on April 3rd, 2021. Depth of ~38' with a max depth of 68' on a 65 minute dive. Post process was crop and some light/color correction. If you're interested in more of my underwater pics, check my Flickr or @Nature.Christography in my sig.

Been away from the forum for a while. Been shooting mostly watches. Probably too much. Here’s a few recent ones.
