    Description

Hi I'm looking to purchase a Sigma 18-35 1.8 Canon mount.
I"m also looking for the speed booster that will fit my EM5 II.
I assume anyone getting rid of this lens would have the speed boster as well.

I have a PL 15 1.7 & PL 25 1.4 I could sell/trade and throw in some cash as well if you are looking for that. Both lenses are in super condition and have everything (boxes, caps, etc.).

    Thank you,

What a tease! haha. How are you liking this setup? How is the weight? You are getting 1.1 or 1.2? Do you have any samples you would like to share?
can you tell me about your experience with this lens and other previous lenses? I am trying to get this setup and turn in my pl 15 and pl 25. where did you get this combo? new?used?

any info would be much appreciated ;)

That's pretty much the lens I use 90% of the time. You forget about the weight once you see the absurd quality results. There is really no other lens to compare to. *Maybe* to the new Olympus 25/1.2, but even then it's a fixes FL. This is zoom at prime quality 12-25 @ 1.2.

And the lens feels so good in your hands that you suddenly feel important :)

Auto focus ia not fast as native lens, but it's pretty good.

It gives maximum aperture of 1.2. I have some samples I will upload later on.

I bought the Speedbooster from a member here, got it for quite a bargain.

The Sigma I bought used from a local, also bargain - costed me 376$ including an IV filter :)

    I can't be more satisfied.

Thank you for the great insight. You got a steal!!! I have been looking. I guess I'll just have to wait for someone to sell or trade.
Do you use it for video? You have a GX7? Do you have any video samples? I have a EM5 II, but will probably upgrade to GH4/5
Jeez! Why is it when you want something you can never find anyone selling it and when you don't need it there is an abundance of it it lol

Looking forward to your samples. If this turns out great I might sell my Nocticron to pick up the Sigma 50 1.4 or 85 1.4. I haven't decided yet.

    I got a GX7, but ordered a GX85, mainly for stabilization and 4k.

The lens is a heaven for video because the focus ring is sooooo smooth. Just a pleasure to use.

I'm also considering the Sigma 50/1.4, but it costs too much as of now. I got the Canon 50/1.8 STM that's costs nothing and it gives pretty good results as 35/1.3. I'm happy with it. As for 85, it too close for me. If I need the reach I'm using the Canon EF-S 55-250 STM, which turns into 39-177/2.8-4, which is pretty good for a zoom lens. And it costs me only $160!!

Ya I mainly use my Noc for family portraits or single. I figured the 85 will turn into 120mm .9 something so that is fine for me. I don't need much of a zoom, but a jump to 120 from 85 is good enough for me.
I can't believe others are using this setup more. It seems like the ultimate combo besides the weight, but isnt really much compared to other camera systems.

Well it took some times until I pulled the trigger myself, I was really afraid of the size and weight.

It took a day or two to get use to it, but once I saw the qualities of the lens and the photos i get of it, I can't care less of the weight.

I had problems shooting indoors with acceptable iso with my other lenses such as 20/1.7. With f1.2 I get one more stop of light and even at 1.2, the results are sharper than 20mm @ f1.7. Plus the most important thing is that you got zoom!!! 12-25 is a VERY convenient range. Sure 12-35 would be even more awesome but that would mean uber-huge- unacceptable weight and size because remember there is no such thing as f1.8 zoom of this type, none.

Plus with the Speedbooster you have access to very low cost but good lenses, such as 50/1.8 STM and 55-250, and many more. Panasonic is now going to sell their 50-200/2.8-4 for God knows how much. I got 39-177/2.8-4 for $160!

One could say why buy a Speedbooster just buy a Canon body. Well, give me a cankn body that has awasome 5-axis IBIS with 4k. And if there were, full frame would cost $2500+ at least, and APC-S $1500. Also, remember that with speedbooster you get crop factor of 1.4, with Canon APC-S you get 1.6.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I think this combo will be killer. I really love the rendition of this lens.

You don't happen to have any samples?

I'm on the prowl looking for grey market items.
