We've just got back from an evening walk around our village, having spent the day shopping and gardening.
Luckily, we got the nice sunset on our outward trip and worked up a thirst.
Sadly, although the lights were on, the pub is shut during the lockdown.
The two effigies are, I think, supposed to be a tribute to the front line workers, but I think it's probably a true representation of what they'll look like when all of this is over!
And finally, a nice tribute from one of the young girls just down the road from me.

Went to local market the other day. I am now used to seeing many people with masks and gloves, but this fellow took it to a whole new level of protection by employing those often banned plastic bags.*

*BTW, if you have not seen this absolutely brilliant four minute "mockumentary", The Majestic Plastic Bag, I highly recommend it!

Someone decided to 'protect' some dog statues in a park near my home. Here is one pic.

My Pandemic walks usually follow a creek where a heron and some mallards frequent. Today we maybe found a nest, I didn't even notice them until the male pushed off shore to lead Jenna away from the female. Fortunately Jenna is well enough trained to leave them alone and climb the bank when my wife called her. I'll give this zone a wide berth when walking with Jenna for a while.

Was Port Townsend as uninhabited as it appears, or did you have to wait for folks to move out of frame?
This was yesterday evening, as I was picking up a pizza. There were very few people walking around, and no one in that space. Many people live downtown, so lots of cars parked along Water St. The evening before I was at the other end of the street, and there were quite a lot of people walking around, carefully avoiding each other.

Edit: by 'quite a lot of people', I am speaking in pandemic quantities; maybe 20 people scattered about.

So, now we're being asked to stay home except for essential outings. Fortunately, walking the dog qualifies. But, have you ever tried to photograph with an obstinate dog on a lead? I decided to give it a try today. One prime lens, semi-automatic mode, one-handed operation (good thing I have a small camera). Real point-and-shoot stuff. Would I have taken these pics at any other time? Maybe, maybe not. Anyway, here's what I saw in our small town this morning.

When I returned to our house, I saw our first blooming rhododendron catching a bit of afternoon sunshine. . .

Had a heavy storm and many inches of rain all week, this afternoon was the first time I've gone out except for the mail.

Saw several rabbits; they're not usually active this time of day, but they must be hungry after the storm.

The grass and (invasive) wild mustard have been enjoying the rains. Unfortunately the mustard get really tall and stay erect after they die and dry out, creating an enormous fire hazard. We had a lot of rain last year as well, and many places still have dead mustard standing. The brownish dead plants in the middle and background may be mustard:

Didn't notice these last time:

New 'viral' phenomenon - "Bear Hunt" (although the one at left seems to be an impostor):

In case you can't tell from the 'selfie', we're now ordered to cover our faces (with commercial or homemade masks) at all times in public; I'm wearing a mask and sunglasses. And a camera.
