Some more. From a total of four walks. I felt that manual primes were fitting somehow.

So, now we're being asked to "just walk in your neighbourhood". Over my 90-minute walk, I waved at 2 people across the street from me. Advantage of living in a small town, I suppose. Anyway, I got caught up looking at textures, forms, colours, compositions.

Fortunately, I live near a park and short walks are still ok. I try to make the most of it.

They've stopped people from travelling in cars to go somewhere for a walk so I'm now limited to walking from my house. Luckily I live pretty close to a wood and some hills (literally at the end of my street) so I can escape relatively safely, just a dog walker or two usually venture that way. No sheep and no windmills in today's pictures!

A 34 shot panorama of Burnley with Pendle Hill in the background, taken at the top of the hill at the end of my street. This is only exported at 1/10th resolution due to the jpg size.

From the hill I dropped down into the woods to see if I could catch any of the small birds that we have in the area. I've been trying to get pictures of a family of Long Tailed Tits for the last few days when they come in my garden, I figured there may be others in the wood.

Eventually got some bird shots, and a very wide shot of a Long Tailed Tit... definitely need more reach!

After two weeks stuck at home working and social distancing, the wife and I took a walk around our small valley. Felt great to be out, saw others walking, and talked with a co-worker (with the road in between). EM5.3 w/12-100. SOOC JPGs.

We'd been busy in the garden all day and I said I'd like to go for a short walk to take some photos of some wild flowers at the end of our village.
(Un)fortunately for my weary legs, there were rather more varieties out than I expected and we ended up on a 3 mile loop. I'll try and get some of the flower photos up on the correct forum soon, but in the meantime, this is t'other half striding (with her new hip ;) ) ahead of me on the way back up the hill to home.

Turn's out that the police stopping you from travelling to somewhere to have a walk was a bit of heavy handedness. The choices are leave my front door and expect to have to cross the street more than a couple of times to avoid social contact or go where we went for walks last week which was only a 5 minute drive and meet no one... the latter in my book is the less risk! My wife and kids haven't been out of the house for 4 days because of the the police's misinterpretation of government advice as we didn't want to risk any contact (I was going stir crazy yesterday and I'm willing to go places they won't go!) so it was nice for them to get outside for some fresh air and sun.

So back to sheep and windmills... and a couple of cows today! Trying a different editing style today.

It's beginning to get a bit iffy here with fines being handed out if they think you are not on an "essential" walk. I guess carrying a camera could have the jobsworths construe that you aren't out for the exercise?
That is one thing I like about being here in Alaska during this. Getting outside for a walk is encourage and very much valued by the people. But I have noticed that everyone pretty much stays away from each other, other than family units that is. Another thing I really like about being here is the boarder is effectively closed and the only way into the state are the airport or a few port cities. Which makes the state required 2 week quarantine is really going to help us not get hit as hard as other places. Good thing because we are really isolated and supplies take a lot longer to arrive.

Taking your camera out on a walk means you are effectively doubling up... physical exercise with the walking and mental wellbeing with the photography!

The flowers haven't opened up yet (see yesterday's pic), but the bees don't seem to mind.
