Walking the dog

    I was out walking my dog when the light suddenly changed.
    Fortunately I had my camera with me, but no tripod though.

    HDR would have been best for this shot as shadows were really pushed here.
    Anyway, I like the mood in the picture in spite of its flaws.

    The clouds are magnificent! They are the real star of this photo, perhaps if you crop the bottom 1/4 of the photo to just below the barn. Then the clouds would be the main focus and the relative darkness of the barn wouldn't matter as much. You're correct, this would make an excellent HDR shot. Still, very fine capture! :thumbup:

    Thanks for commenting. I think I was too keen on following the composition rule: 1/3 land + 2/3 sky. A bottom crop is certainly a good idea. Following your suggestion I first cropped just below the barn but in my opinion it looked a bit odd. Then I tried a crop approx in the middle of the grass which resulted in a more balanced picture, I think.
