Hey guys - a few months ago i posted some questions regarding gear to use in peru - well i ended up using my gx1, panny 20mm, panny 14-45mm, panny 45mm-175mm zoom, and the olympus 45mm prime.
i lugged around my thinktank retrospective 7 - the best f'ing bag btw - amazing really - ipad and gear hauled around effortlessly

anyways here we go. Thank you for looking.

A great set, what a wonderful looking country.

Did you take your manfrotto tripod? If so, how did you carry it with your Restrospective bag? (I'm looking at the 7 too, but can't make my mind up). I have a grorillapod slr with manfrotto ballhead for travel

Wow - terrific shots. The two men on the street with the arched walkway and blue door is beautiful. I'd love to see the second photo (the two women in holding their skirts) in color.

I didn't take the manfrotto - i took the advice of other members and left the tripod.

I did bring a Gorillapod and used that for some slow shutter speed shots; light and compact.

i can't speak more highly of the 7. it's a high quality bag that took some cold weather, hot weather, rain, and some bumps along the way and i did not once second guess the protection.

i did purchase a cheaper bag only to return it after feeling the quality was pretty subpar compared to the Thinktank and Domke. My ipad, my kindle, and my travel book all fit along with 4 lens, a rocket, filters, (2) batteries, etc.

You do get what you pay for.

now u have me curious to compare the two!

for some reason i felt the B&W popped more. trying to recall if the colorful dresses were too intense

This is a really wonderful set. Thanks for sharing them, and in doing so "taking us along for the ride"

I think what strikes me most in viewing these is how little the place, and its people, have seemingly changed in the 25 years since I traveled there. Thanks again for sharing them, Reactions.

I made the poor decision to try to run a portion of it and I thought I was going to die lol

The altitude is ridiculous. And I'm in marathon running shape !

Very well done set of images. I like the selections you made regarding B&W vs color. Peru is such a colorful country.
