I picked up a copy of this lens to use while my Pany 20/1.7 is out on loan to my sister. I like the "narrow normal" field of view, and while you wouldn't call it a "macro" lens it does reach 1:5 at minimum focus distance (~23cm) and is quite sharp. It's a nice walkaround lens and the close focus ability makes it great for detail shots of moderately-sized objects like flowers, larger insects, etc. I've got a set going on Flickr with some keepers from yesterday, will add to it in the next few days as the weather cooperates. All of these were shot as RAW and have been PP'd in Aperture - mainly curves adjustments to bring up the contrast.

The aperture ranges from f/2.8-16 with clicks for half-stops. There is some vignetting wide-open but disappears after stopping down. I shot a series of photos at a brick wall with some signs on it and would say that it is pretty sharp in the center at the first half-click (f/3.3), and at the corners it peaks around f/4-5.6 but still seems a bit soft to me. My adapter allows significant focus past infinity (by the time the lens says it's focused at 1m I'm already at infinity focus!) so I'm hoping to find a way to shim it or get another adapter.

These are some I took last year with this lens, MD mount on a GF1.

    Dull evenings.

Have found this lens to be sharp with good bokeh, but lacking contrast so bright sunshine really helps.

I got mine off my Dad who no longer uses his Minolta, I certainly intend to use this a lot more now the weather has improved in HK.

As keeper of the Vivitar Bestiary I have several variants on this lens. Though it only focuses on the Pentax-compatible versions, you may want to check out that page for info.

But I haven't really used them with MFT, since the native lenses are so good. Besides, eFOV 56mm is not my favourite.

I was inspired by Brian's, Fin Azvandi and other's photos and have bought this lens for newly purchased G3.

I'm not saying I'm dissapointed, rather have mixed feelings. My images are not as clear. Not sure yet who is to blame: lens, camera or the photographer behind it. Currently it is my only lens, and later images are much better then earlier. May be I need more time to get used to new camera and lens.
